BOARD MEETING MINUTES
December 14, 2022
Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Dean Liddicoat.
Present: Dean Liddicoat, Mark Sieling, Jeff Lindner, Michelle Wendhausen, Sam Palzkill.
Others Present: Jeff Oxnem, Richard Paynter, Liz Larson
Confirmed compliance with open meeting law.
Minutes from the November meeting were approved on a motion by Mark, second by Jeff.
Richard Paynter - appearing regarding the letter sent to him concerning a new driveway. Richard explained the drive has always been there, just not used. He agreed to put gravel or breaker run in drive to meet up with the existing roadway. He expressed a concern that the Village of Linden plow and UPS drivers use his upper driveway for turnaround and are eroding the road edge. Jeff O will put a loader of gravel in that drive.
Motion by Mark, second by Jeff to approve the resolution adopting the 2022 Iowa County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update. Approved. Resolution signed by Dean Liddicoat, Chairman and Sam Palzkill, Clerk.
Motion by Mark, second by Jeff to pay City of Dodgeville for EMS and Fire for all invoices they have sent. Carried
Discussion regarding the metal dumpster not being emptied.
Discussion regarding the fuel contract with Mulgrew Oil. Motion by Jeff L, second by Mark for Jeff O to check prices with Poad Oil and either complete the Mulgrew contract by 12-27-22 with Sam or contract with Poad Oil. Motion carried.
Bills were approved on a motion by Jeff second by Mark.
In the absence of Mel Masters, Sam reported on several items: UHH request for $250,000 per year from Iowa County to build an 88 bed elder care home; Cave road issue is still active; there will be two new County Board members; Ambulance staffing and financing issues are a concern on County level; the Bloomfield sale should close this week $192,000; sales tax revenue for the County substantially increased in 2022.
The Board went into executive session per pursuant to State Statute 19.185(1)(c) to discuss employee compensation.
Board reconvened in regular session.
Next meeting set for January 11, 2023.
