
BOARD MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 14, 2022
Meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm by Chairman Dean Liddicoat.
Present: Dean Liddicoat, Mark Sieling, Jeff Lindner, Michelle Wendhausen, Sam Palzkill.
Others Present: Jeff Oxnem, Mel Masters. John Meyers, Stosh, Charles Collier. John Trace came at 8:00
Confirmed compliance with open meeting law.
Minutes from the August meeting were approved on a motion by Jeff, second by Mark.
Treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Mark, second by Jeff. Passed
Charles Collier review Town’s insurance coverage on drivers and equipment. The new grapple was added and a truck no longer owed was removed.
Steve Stricker – Mr Stricker was not present. Site review was completed for a driveway at 3468 Hwy 18 and plans for a residence at that address. Both were deemed to meet requirements. Motion by Mark, second by Jeff to approve the driveway and residence as presented.
John Meyers -- re: Bloomfield facility, bids closed 09-09. Only one bid for $120,000 to be used as a manufacturing plant providing 50-100 jobs. Sale is for the building and 12 acres. The County keeps the sewer treatment plant. Discussed disposition, current status of the Campbell fund.
Old law enforcement center. – plan is to donate to Southwest Tech for a satellite center. Both this and Bloomfield will be decided at the County Board meeting next week.
Edmund speed sign – one provided by the County is in place. Tabled to October.
Cave Road – Mel indicated he has reported to the County three times that it has not been repaired. Supposedly, the contractor that did the work will do it.
Edmund street light – One pole is up. Residents now want one at the other corner. Dean will have Alliant call Mark to determine the location. Motion by Jeff, second by Mark to put up the second pole. Passed.
Edmund siren – tabled
Tracy Fillback was a no show.
Hazard Mitigation Plan -- Board will begin work on updating the Town emergency plan.
Outlet – an additional electric outlet is needed to accommodate the Express Vote equipment. Sam will contact Esser Electric.
Bucket Road – dumping problem seems to have been solved
Jeff Oxnem – Would like to see updates to lights in the garage. Esser can give an estimate of the cost.
Three culverts were replaced recently. Need to have the blacktopped. Jeff will get a cost from Iowa County
Sam – the .gov domain has been applied for. Townofmineralpointwi.gov . The website is being worked on.
Next meeting October 12, 2022.
