TOWN OF LINDEN

BOARD MEETING MINUTES

                                        November 9, 2022

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm by Chairman Dean Liddicoat.

Present:  Dean Liddicoat, Mark Sieling, Jeff Lindner, Michelle Wendhausen,  Sam Palzkill.

 Others Present:    Jeff Oxnem, Richard Jenkins, Rick Zemlicka

Confirmed compliance with open meeting law.

Minutes from the October meeting were approved on a motion by Jeff, second by Mark.

Treasurer’s report was approved on a motion by Mark, second by Jeff. 

Richard Jenkins presented a map of land that ATC has leased on for Dodgeville, Linden, and Mineral Point and again reiterated the health hazards associated with the turbines.

Discussion regarding the new truck.  The old truck will be sold with a hoped for.  Expected it will bring in the  neighborhood of $80,000.  Total cost of the new truc to be approx.. $250,000.  The truck body is scheduled to be delivered in the next few days.  The amount due at delivery is approx. $150,000. It was discussed whether to use ATC money that is available waiting for delivery of the boom mower and then use the CD due early next year.  It was decided to obtain a loan from Farmers Savings Bank in the amount of $150,000 for five years with annual principal payments in the amount of $30,000 plus interest.  Motion by Mark, second by Jeff to obtain the loan.  Carried.  Sam was instructed to contact the bank and start the loan process.

Jeff O --  a grain truck has destroyed a portion of the Keough Springs road.  The damage has been patched.  Jeff said he told them they have to stay on letter numbered roads.   A 10 ton weight limit has been posted.

Cave Road  -- has not been repaired from damage caused by the airport construction as promised by Iowa County.  Craig Hardy told Jeff it would be done after the airport lights are installed and, therefore, is delayed until next near.

Iowa County Humane Society contract was reviewed and approved.

Mark – Siren for Edmund would cost upwards of $30,000.   Will check for ARPA money available for that.

Rick Paynter has open the fence into his pasture and is entering the road without an existing driveway.  Sam was instructed to send him a letter indicating he has 30 days to contact the Building and Planning Commission to have the driveway approved.   Committee members names and numbers will be on the letter.

Bills were approved on a motion by Jeff, second by Mark.

Next meeting was set for December 14, 2022
