TOWN OF LINDEN

BOARD MEETING MINUTES

April 12, 2023

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Dean Liddicoat.

Present:  Dean Liddicoat, Mark Sieling, Jeff Lindner, Michelle Wendhausen,  Sam Palzkill.

 Others Present:    Josh Husom, Fred Jones, Liz Larson, Stosh Potocki, Richard Jenkins, Jon Novak, Rick Zemlicka

Confirmed compliance with open meeting law.

Minutes from the March 8, 2023 meeting were approved   on a motion by Mark, second by Jeff.

Jon Novak --  His property has  three fire numbers but only one house.  He wants to add two more houses/fire numbers off of this driveway.  Scott told him this was OK but it is nor per ordinance.  Tabled to next meeting for further research.

Stosh – Told of his efforts to save  oak trees and presented core samples of trees that showed their age.   Requested no spraying in front of his property.

Road Review – Josh will contact Carl re: sealcoating Keough Spring, Roaster and Bucket roads.  Work on Cave Rd dependent on funding per Craig Hardy.  For now, patch potholes and leave.

Obsolete parts to go to Wisconsin Surplus Auction in one lot.

2013 Truck – needs repair.  Josh instructed to arrange with Truck Country in Shullsburg.

2023 Truck – smoking under hood and cracked windshield.  Josh instructed to get repaired if Shullsburg covers warranty

Josh presented a bid from Careys for gutters.  No action taken.

Received a check from West End Salvage for scrap.

The annual Municipal report was filed by Johnson Block

Mark instructed the Clerk to write a letter to Ken Kammes regard to the burned house in Edmund requesting that the hole be filled.

Fred Jones – suggestions to co-mingle the recyclables in one large dumpster.  Other dumpsters discussed.

Richard Jinkins – discussed the Township getting Village Powers (which we already have) and a moratorium on wind turbines.

Adjourned to closed session at 8:50 to consider benefits for full time help.

Back to Open session at 9:10.

Paid time off for full time to be:  1 week vacation first year.  Comp time not to exceed 80 hours accumulated.  Days off at 8 hours paid:  Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Years Day.   If work any of those days because of weather to be paid at double time.  Call out for tree on road, etc paid 4 hours minimum.

Next meeting set for May 10, 2023.
