TOWN OF LINDEN

BOARD MEETING MINUTES

                                        February 15, 2023

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Dean Liddicoat.

Present:  Dean Liddicoat, Mark Sieling, Jeff Lindner, Michelle Wendhausen,  Sam Palzkill.

 Others Present:    Jeff Oxnem, Mel Masters, Liz Larson, Stosh Potocki, Makalea Caygill, Ross Caygill, Tom Small

Confirmed compliance with open meeting law.

Minutes from the January1, 2023 meeting were approved with a change in the wording from “Iowa county property” to “Iowa County owned Property” in reference to wind turbine placement on a motion by Mark, second by Jeff.

Financial information approved on a motion by Jeff, second by Mark.

Ross Caygill house construction – the site inspection is done and approved.  The Planning Commission recommends the application be approved.  Motion by Mark, second by Jeff to approve.  Carried.

Jeremy Geisler cabin construction – old farmhouse will be torn down.  The grade of the driveway is acceptable.  At least two turnoffs will be needed.  Committee approved the site and drive.  Motion by Mark, second by Jeff to approve the application with the stipulation that it meets the restrictions for the airport.  Motion carried.

Clerk to draft a letter to the Iowa County Board expessing  opposition to wind turbines on Iowa County owned property.

Clerk to check with County Clerk regarding a question on the April ballot regarding wind turbine placement

Stosh – presented the Board with an airport zoning map showing potential wind turbine placement within the restricted zones.    Township needs to amend the ordinance limiting the height of new structures not exceeding ridge tops.

Bridge grant – the County bridge ratings need to be done before a 100% funding grant can be applied for.  Application due March 23, 2023.   Will not be able to apply this year.

Jeff Oxnem – the new truck is ready to pick up and the boom mower is here

Mel Masters --  Iowa County is doing a wage rate study that will possibly result in increase in County worker wages.  There is proposal for a policy whereby the Town can take over County roads.  County will pay $30,000 per mile.  This has to be passed by the full County Board on February 21, 2023.

Bills were approved on a motion by Jeff, second by Mark.

Prior to the  meeting, Jon Novak approached the Board members with questions regarding zoning and building questions on property in the Township that he is considering purchasing.  The Board was not in session and the answers the Board provided were only advisory.  He left before the Board went in session and nothing was discussed or approved by the Board.
