TOWN OF LINDEN

BOARD MEETING MINUTES

                                        January 11, 2023

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Dean Liddicoat.

Present:  Dean Liddicoat, Mark Sieling, Jeff Lindner, Michelle Wendhausen,  Sam Palzkill.

 Others Present:    Jeff Oxnem, Mel Masters, Liz Larson.  John Trace arrived at 8:00

Confirmed compliance with open meeting law.

Minutes from the December, 2022 meeting were approved on a motion by Mark, second by Jeff.

Financial information approved on a motion by Jeff, second by Mark.

Mel Masters – Plowing in December Iowa County cost for County roads was $367,000 and for State roads $285,000.   There are  two new supervisors on the County Board, Doty Cochrane and Ingram Nelson.  Hwy 39 is out for bids in the spring and construction to start midsummer.  The old jail is gone and the land turned over to SWTC Outreach.  Road tamers take the pressure off the plow and save the road sealant.  Bloomfield deal is done – buyer is anonymous.  There will NOT be wind turbines on Iowa County property per County Board directive.

The $50,000 CD due on January 18 – Motion by Jeff, second by Mark to renew for 18 months at Farmers Savings Bank.

Fuel Supplier has been swithched to Poad Oil in Mineral Point.

Caucus set for Wednesday, January 18th at 7pm

Bridge grant – Motion  to use Delta 3 Engineering and get something going for future grants.  Mark will talk to Craig Harding.

Jeff Oxnem -  Boom mower to arrive February 7, 2023. The Western Star had extensive repairs.  Plows are having problems with vehicles parked on turn arouds on dead line roads.  Sam will send a letter to properties list provided by Jeff O.

Bob is resigning.  Unsure of date – if he will stay thru the winter or not.  John Trace would be willing to help if needed to plow
